Dr. Fitzgerald is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Fitzgerald is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He is Board Certified in utilization review and quality improvement. He is past president of the El Paso County Medical Society and former head of the Medical Ethics Committee. He also helped to write legislation on the care of dying patients. He helped write the Colorado Division of Labor guidelines for Management of Low Back Pain.
