Dr. McCarthy is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow in the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics and on the Board of the Arthritis Foundation. He has been Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Memorial Hospital and President of Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation. He graduated from Saint Vincent College and the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines, Iowa. He has had special training in total joint replacement and hand surgery at Ohio State University Hospital. He has practiced in Colorado Springs since 1977. He enjoys basketball, golf, and wind surfing. His special interests are in total joint replacement and spine surgery.
